SI Global M&A Update: H1 2025
It was a busy first half of the year for SI Global - we closed 8 deals in the digital economy ( 7 announced, 1 undisclosed) in the 6 month period with several more imminent. View our latest deals here.
Strong Buyer Demand Continues
There has been no real let-up in buyer demand. Private Equity and trade alike are scrambling for the best assets – whilst admittedly being more thoughtful before they close deals. Any headwinds we have seen have been primarily due to seller performance – either flat in 2024 or worse.
Global Transaction Activity
We have seen a full international spread – with transactions in the USA, the UK, Continental Europe, the Middle East, South East Asia and Australia. This is the key: buyers are looking globally so most of the key markets are in play. Honestly, with negligible impact from the tumultuous geo-political sphere.
What Buyers Are Looking For in 2025
In 2025, strategic buyers want agencies that can prove real expertise in proprietary data, owned audience, and AI-driven analytics. On the consultancy side, any specialist in highly-regulated sectors, advising the C-suite is bound to attract acquirer attention. On top of this, the companies leveraging strong IP (online media, content, software) are proving more and more popular to the aggregators and especially to Private Equity.
Best-Prepared Sellers Lead the Way
The best-prepared sellers—those who can demonstrate resilience, a well-substantiated growth plan, and bulletproof diligence —are achieving the fastest completions and best terms. Meet these requirements and you’ll be in great shape.
In Summary
The M&A market remains very active, especially for small to medium sized targets, but the rules of the game are evolving. Adaptation and agility will matter more than ever as 2025 unfolds.
